A Million Worlds with You: Book Review

November 7, 2016 Book Reviews

A Million Worlds with You (Firebird, #3)A Million Worlds with You by Claudia Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Full review update! 4.5 maybe? It was really good- but I have a lot of feelings some of them mixed.

The plot was just as wack as the first two which honestly is what makes this series so good. You can literally land anywhere – any universe/dimension/country… LITERALLY anywhere. This book is no exception- you’ll get to visit some wild places. It picks up right where book 1 left off, and there are no unanswered questions. The first chapter will seem a bit out of place – but just go with it.

In essence, this in entire story is just plain fun and Claudia Gray is a wild author and I love her for it. I’m interested in checking out her other series now for sure.

———–Spoilers Below ————

Here are some of the major highlights for me…

-Theo. I love Theo. This is no secret, especially if you’ve read my other reviews. Everything about this guy. Theo is by far the best part of this book, and even in his evil form, he’s got a good heart. HE LOVES HER SO MUCH UGH. Even evil Theo does something horrid but kinda redeems himself. Not to mention he has much more personality than Paul and he’s just more interesting to read about. Plain and simple.

-The scene with all the Marguerites is THE BEST. Not to mention completely clever and hilarious.

-The grand duchess Marguerite might be my favorite character after Theo. The closure on her is PERFECT and yaaaasss she is with Theo. (They will definitely inevitably fall for each other because Theo is perfection and she will be powerless against his charms.)

-The crazy plot twists that make your heart stop beating! Seriously, Claudia… how do you come up with this stuff?

Here’s what didn’t work for me this time…

Honestly, I understand why people like Paul but I was just not feeling it. Marguerite was in a constant mental battle over him and I got a little tired of her drooling and going on and on about the guy. I don’t hate him, but by golly I was over them two. That being said, (again, I really don’t hate him..) but he was so completely unstable and I’m just not a fan of staying in unstable relationships. Don’t get me wrong- I’m all for the “stick by the one you love” mentality (I’ve been with my husband for 10 years – married for 4 of those years.) But when you’re in the dating arena, hanging around emotionally unstable men in those conditions can be toxic. (view spoiler)[I knew they would end up together but I’m still just “eh” about them. (Russian Paul is another story.. but bruh is gone.) (hide spoiler)]

I also must add that all the journeys and dimensions got pretty confusing. Claudia did a pretty good job of keeping me on track for all that she threw at me but it was still a lot to take in and I found myself having to take several mental breaks.

Overall Impression…

Even though I’m not 100% happy with the ending, I still really love this series. Plus, I caught Claudia’s twitter message when she says “Feel free to ship any of my characters. There are multiple dimensions and anything is possible!” So, I’m taking her advice, and I’m going to live in my little world of denial that there is any universe that Theo and Marguerite aren’t together. Hah, seriously though- this is a fantastic series.
